UGC ad script examples

Published · Updated · View as Markdown

A UGC ad script is a short run of lines you say to camera: a hook, two or three lines of proof, and one ask. These seven UGC ad script examples cover beauty, fitness and tech at 15, 30 and 45 seconds, written out line by line. We wrote all of them for this page, with made-up products and codes, so swap in your own. Under the scripts: how to write to a length, how to film a script with the teleprompter, and how Bang AI on iPhone can turn an ad you like into a script about your product.

Examples

Lip tint, coffee test

1. "This tint survived my iced coffee." 2. Sip on camera, then hold the straw up clean: "Nothing on the straw." 3. "Code MAYA is on screen. Go."

Why it works: One test, shown rather than described, is all the proof a 15-second ad has room for, and the hook already tells the viewer what the test is.

Vitamin C serum, three weeks in

1. "My dark spot is the reason I wore foundation every day." 2. "I've used this serum every morning for three weeks." 3. Drop on the back of your hand: "It's thin, and it's gone before my moisturiser goes on." 4. Close on your cheek in daylight: "Lighter. Not gone, lighter." 5. "If that's your spot too, it's linked in my bio."

Why it works: It opens on the problem, gives a time frame, and keeps the result modest. "Not gone, lighter" is the line viewers believe, because it doesn't oversell.

Travel bands, problem then fix

1. "I travel every week, and my workouts used to stop when I did." 2. Fold the bands into a sock: "These fit in a sock." 3. "Rows, squats, presses, in a hotel room." 4. "Twenty minutes and I'm done." 5. "The set of five is linked below."

Why it works: A clear problem in line one, the product as the fix in line two, and a routine that shows it working. The ask names the exact set to buy.

Protein bar, honest rating

1. "Rating the protein bar my gym sells, honestly." 2. Bite: "Texture: soft, not chalky." 3. "Taste: like a brownie, a slightly dry brownie." 4. Turn the wrapper: "Protein's on the front. Read the back too." 5. "In the car after a session, yes. Instead of lunch, no." 6. "Comment the next bar I should rate."

Why it works: A rating format gives the middle its order, the split verdict sounds like a real person, and the comment ask sets up the next video.

Phone stand, one-move demo

1. "This stand turns my phone into a desk camera." 2. Snap the phone on, tilt it to face you: "One click." 3. "Link in bio, second one down."

Why it works: The click is the whole demo, so the script stays out of its way. Three lines are enough when the product explains itself on camera.

  • 15 seconds

Budget app, before and after

1. "I didn't know where my money went until I tried this app." 2. Screen: the spending chart for the month. "Here's last month, sorted for me." 3. "Coffee to go was a whole category." 4. "This month I set a limit, and it nudges me when I'm close." 5. "Link in bio if you want to see yours."

Why it works: The screen does the convincing in lines two and three, and a slightly embarrassing detail about coffee makes the story feel personal.

  • Tech, apps and gadgets
  • 30 seconds

Charger, answering a comment

1. "Someone asked if this charger is worth it with only one phone." 2. "Fair question. Here's my answer." 3. Plug in the phone and earbuds together: "It's never only one thing." 4. "It's small enough for my jacket pocket." 5. "The one downside: the cable is short." 6. "Ask me anything else about it below."

Why it works: Replying to a real question gives the video a reason to exist, and the drawback stops it from sounding like a pitch.

How the scripts are laid out

Each script is a handful of numbered lines. Film each numbered line as its own clip, and you have clean places to cut and an easy redo when one line goes wrong. The words in quotes are what you say. Anything outside the quotes is what the camera sees while you say it.

The 15-second scripts have a hook, one proof and an ask. The 30-second ones add a problem or a second proof. The 45-second ones have room for a drawback, which makes the rest sound more honest. Read each one aloud before you film it, and change any word you wouldn't say to a friend.

Writing to a length

Read the script aloud with a timer, or paste it into the script timer, before you film. Then write a line or two longer than you need. In Auto Edit you pick the length: Auto keeps every good line, Most ads aims for about 30 seconds, and Custom runs from 10 seconds to 3 minutes. With a length picked, Bang AI keeps your strongest lines, your hook and your call to action, and drops the rest until the video is near your pick.

Treat the length as a target. The cut may land a few seconds either side, and the spare line you wrote is what lets it choose.

Filming a script with the teleprompter

On iPhone, put the script in the video's Script field and open the Teleprompter from the rail in the Camera tab. Turn on Voice and it scrolls as you speak, or set the speed with Slower and Faster. The same script also guides the auto edit.

Say each line, then say the hard ones again. Auto Edit keeps the clearest recording of a line, and the badge on a clip lets you swap in another later. Leave Let AI Reorder off, since you filmed the lines in the order you want them.

Starting from an ad you admire

On iPhone, Bang AI can copy the words of an ad for you. In the Notes tab, press +, choose Copy From a Link, paste a link from the Meta Ad Library, TikTok, Instagram or Facebook and press Copy the Words. It copies what's said, and how fast, into a new note, for videos up to 2 minutes.

Those are someone else's words about their product, so open the note and press Make it yours. Pick your product from one of your videos, choose how close to the ad your version stays, add anything to say or avoid, like "Say it's fragrance-free", and press Write My Version. It costs credits. Film the new script, then run Auto Edit with Edit like a video set to the same ad, in the iPhone or Mac app, to follow its pace. Your video is still cut only from your own clips.

Questions, answered.

How many words is a 30-second UGC script?

It depends on how fast you talk, so time yours rather than counting. Read it aloud at your normal pace, or use the script timer, and trim until it fits.

Should I memorise the script or read it?

Either. Short lines filmed one at a time are easy to say from memory, and on iPhone the teleprompter shows the script while you film and can scroll as you speak.

Can I copy a competitor's ad script word for word?

Better not. Copy the shape, not the words. In Bang AI, Make It Yours rewrites a copied note for your own product, and you choose how close to the ad it stays.

Does Copy From a Link work on the web or the Mac?

No. Copy From a Link is on iPhone only, and Edit like a video is in the iPhone and Mac apps. The web app's Auto Edit has every other option.
