UGC call to action examples

A UGC call to action is the last line of the video: one plain ask, said to the lens, with a reason to do it now. Here are nine UGC call to action examples for beauty, fitness and tech, sorted by what they ask for: a shop link, a discount code, a follow, a comment or a save. The lines are ours, written for this page, so change the code, the product and the wording to fit you. Further down: how to choose the ask, and how Bang AI puts a Link in Bio or Discount Code card on screen while you say it and keeps your ending when you cut the video short.
Bang AI is on iPhone, the web and the Mac.

Examples
"The code MAYA works on the whole set"
"My code MAYA is on screen right now, and it works on the whole set, not just the serum." Said with the set lined up in front of you.
Why it works: It answers the question a viewer asks next, whether the code covers everything, before they need to ask it.
- Beauty and skincare
- Discount code
"Tell me your skin type"
"Tell me your skin type in the comments and I'll tell you if this is the one for you."
Why it works: The comment is easy to write, two words at most, and the promise of a personal answer gives people a reason to write it.
- Beauty and skincare
- Comment
"Save this for the next dry morning"
"Save this for the next time your skin feels tight after washing." Said while patting your face dry.
Why it works: It ties the save to a moment the viewer will recognise later, so the video is useful again and not just once.
- Beauty and skincare
- Save
"The exact shaker is linked below"
"The exact shaker is linked below. I went with the large one, it fits a double scoop."
Why it works: It removes the last small choice, which size, so the viewer can go from watching to buying without stopping to think.
- Fitness and supplements
- Shop link
"Follow for week two"
"I'm testing a new pre-workout every week this month. Follow if you want to see week two."
Why it works: A follow is easier to ask for when the next video already exists in the viewer's mind. A numbered series gives it a reason.
- Fitness and supplements
- Follow
"Use LIFTWITHJO at checkout"
"Use LIFTWITHJO at checkout. It's on screen and it's in my bio, so you don't have to remember it."
Why it works: Long codes are hard to catch by ear. Saying where else to find it removes the worry of forgetting it.
- Fitness and supplements
- Discount code
"Second link down, the blue one"
"Link in bio. It's the second one down, the blue icon." Said holding the phone, already showing the app open.
Why it works: Exact directions shrink the gap between wanting it and finding it, which is where a viewer can quietly give up.
- Tech, apps and gadgets
- Shop link
"Comment 'desk' for the full setup"
"Comment 'desk' and I'll show the whole setup in the next video." Said leaning back so more of the desk is in frame.
Why it works: One word to type is the smallest possible effort, and the next video is a clear reward for typing it.
- Tech, apps and gadgets
- Comment
"Save this before you update"
"Save this so you can find the setting after your next update."
Why it works: It names the exact future moment the tip is needed, so the save feels practical rather than polite.

What the last line is for
By the end, the viewer has decided whether they like the product. The closing line tells them what to do about it. It needs three things: one action, said in plain words, and a small reason. "Link in bio" is an action. "Link in bio, it's the second one down" is an action that's easy to follow. "Link in bio if you want the same one I use every morning" adds the reason.
Say it once, at the end, at the same energy as your hook. A call to action mumbled as you reach for the camera sounds like you don't believe it.
Matching the ask to the video
- Shop link when you showed the product working and the viewer can buy it in a tap. See TikTok Shop affiliate videos for affiliate endings.
- Discount code when the brand gave you one. Say it and show it, for viewers watching with the sound off.
- Follow when the video is part of a series and the next part is coming.
- Comment when you can promise a reply, a second video or an answer.
- Save for tips and routines people will want again later.
Pick one. A video that asks for a follow, a comment and a purchase usually gets none of them.
Say it, then show it
Bang AI's spoken overlays put an image on screen beside the sentence where you name it. For endings, the ready-made text cards are the useful ones. In the iPhone or Mac app, open Overlays, press Create Overlay, choose Text and pick Link in Bio or Discount Code (there are also Price Tag and Star Rating cards). Rename the card with the words you'll say, like "link in bio".
While filming the ending, say "overlay link in bio", then your closing line. Turn on Spoken Overlays before you press Auto Edit, since it starts off for a new version. Auto Edit cuts the cue words, so viewers never hear them, and places the card clear of your face. Your overlay library is the same on every device, so a card made on iPhone works in a web Auto Edit too. Spoken Overlays adds to an Auto Edit's cost; credits has the details.
Keeping the ending when you cut short
Film the call to action as its own clip, after the rest. When you pick a length in Auto Edit, Bang AI keeps your strongest lines, your hook and your call to action, and drops lines from elsewhere until the video is near the length. Leave Let AI Reorder off so the ask stays last.
Say the ending two or three ways. Auto Edit puts one recording in the video, and in the editor the badge on that clip lets you swap to another without filming again.
Common ways an ending falls flat
- Thanking the viewer for watching instead of asking for anything.
- Asking for the action before the proof, so there's no reason to act yet.
- A code said too fast to catch, with nothing on screen to read it from.
- Several asks stacked into one breath.
- Trailing off into "so, yeah". Stop talking after the ask, and the silence after it is cut anyway.
Questions, answered.
Where should a call to action go in a UGC video?
At the end, after the proof. A short ad can also mention the offer once in the middle, but the clear ask belongs in the last line.
How long should the closing line be?
One or two short sentences. Long enough to say the action and the reason, short enough that nobody scrolls away before you finish.
Can I show my discount code without saying it?
Yes, but saying it and showing it reaches viewers with and without sound. In Bang AI, a Discount Code card placed by a spoken overlay does both from one sentence.
Does Auto Edit ever drop my call to action?
With a length picked, Auto Edit keeps your strongest lines, your hook and your call to action, and drops the rest until the video is near your pick. With Auto, it keeps every good line. Watch the version before you export to check your ending is there.
Can my AI chat put a 'Link in bio' card on the video?
A chat can add a line of text and retime overlays already in the video, but it can't add an image from your library. Spoken overlays are placed only by an Auto Edit.
