Only roughly. Claude can run code that trims a short file, read your script and suggest cuts, but it has no editor that cuts by what you said, keeps your edit and lets you watch it. Add Bang AI as a custom connector and Claude can edit your saved Bang AI videos as you chat: cut a line, remove a pause, fix a caption, move a product shot or punch in on a moment. Bang AI is the AI video editor for people who talk to the camera, and its Auto Edit makes the first cut in the app, on iPhone, the web or the Mac.

Set it up

  1. Press Add to Claude on Bang AI's home page, or in Claude open Customize, then Connectors, press + and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Bang AI and paste https://api.bangaiapp.com/agent/mcp.
  3. Press Add, then sign in with your Bang AI account.
  4. Ask Claude to list your Bang AI videos and pick one to edit.

  2. In Claude, ask to see the script of that video with line numbers.
  3. Ask for the changes: cut line 4, remove the pause after the hook, make captions yellow.
  4. Ask Claude for the web editor link, check the cut and export it in Bang AI.

How editing from Claude works

Bang AI keeps every video as an edit: the clips you filmed, what you said, where the cuts are, the captions and the overlays. When you ask Claude for a change, it reads that edit, makes the change and saves a new version. Here is what it can change:

  • Script: cut a line, put back a line you cut, remove a pause or a filler word.
  • Clips: trim, reorder or remove a clip.
  • Captions: change the style, fix a word, split or join caption lines.
  • Overlays and pictures: add text, shapes or a clip from the video's own footage; move, retime, crop or delete a product shot, logo or code already there.
  • Framing: punch in, reframe or move the crop over time.
  • Audio: change levels and music.

If the web editor is open on that video, the change appears there while you watch.

Start the cut in Bang AI, finish it in Claude

Make the first cut in Bang AI: upload your clips on the web, the Mac or iPhone and press Auto Edit. It removes the ums, pauses and false starts and adds J and L cuts, and can add punch-ins and captions. Then switch to Claude for the fiddly part, the dozen small changes you would otherwise tap through, and describe them in plain words. The connector Claude uses doesn't start an Auto Edit and doesn't spend credits.

Short, specific requests are applied one at a time, and Claude tells you each change it made.

What it can't do

Claude can't play the video in the chat or export the file. For that, open the video in Bang AI; Claude can give you a link that opens it in the web editor. An edit Claude applies is saved over the video, and it can only bring back a line it cut, not a cut pause, a removed filler or a deleted clip, so check the script before larger changes. If the web editor is open while the edit lands, you can undo it there.

Bang AI suits talking-to-camera videos with clear speech. The connector only reaches the videos in your own Bang AI account, after you sign in. ChatGPT and Codex are trademarks of OpenAI. Claude and Claude Code are trademarks of Anthropic. Bang AI isn't affiliated with or endorsed by either.

Can I upload a video to Claude and have it edited?

Claude doesn't edit video files by itself. Upload your clips to Bang AI, let Auto Edit cut them, then edit the saved video from Claude.

Which link do I add to Claude?

Add a custom connector named Bang AI with https://api.bangaiapp.com/agent/mcp, then sign in with your Bang AI account.

Does editing from Claude spend credits?

No. The connector Claude uses reads and edits saved videos and can't spend credits.

Can Claude start an Auto Edit?

Not with this connector. Press Auto Edit in Bang AI for the first cut, then use Claude for the changes after.

How do I add it on a Team or Enterprise plan?

An owner first adds the custom connector under Organization settings, then Connectors. Each member then presses Connect and signs in with their own Bang AI account.

Does it work in the Claude desktop app?

Custom connectors you add in Claude are available wherever you use Claude with that account, including its desktop app.
